"Gone Girl" Actress Lisa Banes in Critical Condition After Hit & Run

UPDATE: Just over a week after being struck by a motorized scooter, actress Lisa Banes, who starred in films Gone Girl and Cocktail, has passed away. She was 65.

"We are heartsick over Lisa's tragic and senseless passing," her manager, David Williams, said in a statement to NBC News. "She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera and even more so to her wife, family and friends. We were blessed to have had her in our lives."

Actress Lisa Banes is in critical condition after being hit by an unidentified person driving a motorized scooter.

According to the New York Police Department, Banes—a prolific stage and screen actress who portrayed Marybeth in David Fincher's Gone Girl—was struck by a person on a scooter near the intersection of West 64th Street and Amsterdam Ave in Manhattan. Per authorities, she was found on the pavement with severe head trauma.

The person on the scooter did not stay on the scene. Banes, 65, was transported to Mount Sinai Saint Luke's Hospital and is in critical condition.

At this time, no arrests have been made and local law enforcement is investigating the case. Although authorities didn't disclose the name of the victim, the information they shared aligns with TMZ's reporting, who was first to break the news.

Additionally, Lisa's rep tells E! News that "she was crossing Amsterdam Avenue to visit the Juilliard School (her alma mater) by Lincoln Center when she was hit. She is currently in critical condition with substantial injuries at Mt. Sinai Morningside."

Banes' wife Kathryn Kranhold issued a statement to The New York Post, "We'll know more in the next few days."

Banes, a graduate of acclaimed performance arts school Juilliard, was on her way to visit the school at the time of the accident, her representative told The Hollywood Reporter. E! News has reached out to Banes' rep for comment, however, we have yet to receive a response.

Banes, who is currently performing in the play The Niceties, which is being streamed through the Manhattan Theater Club, has a long list of movie and TV shows under her belt. She played Tom Cruise's love interest in the bartending flick Cocktail in 1988, and portrayed a concerned mother confronting her daughter's abusive boyfriend in the cult movie Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? in 1996.
